Mission Control – Outta Limits (Manuel Kim Edit)

Once again I take my scalpel and chisel to one of the finest deep house productions of all time: “Outta Limits” rightly is considered as one of the true gems of the early 90ies, produced by Ralph Falcon (aka Murk aka Deep South aka Funky Green Dogs) and featuring hypnotic spoken word by LSD guru Timothy Leary. Can you believe this was released in 1990? Wow, this puts most current productions to shame. The edit does quite a bit of re-arranging with the dubby middle part and makes it so much more playable for my sets.

Black Box – Ride On Time (Manuel Kim Dub Edit)

Originally released on Out Records in 1989. Another big big classic, first among the DJs in clubs like Hacienda, later a veritable pop charts success (6 weeks number one in the UK!). This track makes great use of the acappella vocals of Loleatta Holloway’s “Love Sensation”. My edit takes the alternative “Garage Trip” mix from the original vinyl and turns it into a trip of its own!
